The Great Mansfield Cleanup

Annually, twice a year, hundreds of local volunteers gather to give our town of Mansfield a thorough spring and fall cleaning. The Keep Mansfield Beautiful Committee organizes the cleanup on a weekend day guiding volunteers as they fan out across Mansfield to pick up the trash that litters our roadsides, parks, school grounds, and other public areas.

All are invited to join this great community event!

NEXT Community Cleanup -Fall Sweep - Nov 1-10

Join your neighbors, family, and friends and help clean up the litter that has piled up over the past several   months, before the weather turns too cold or snowy. Or clean up by yourself—whatever works best for you!

Simply sign up now! Your Cleanup Captain will contact you in late October with details about your preferred or assigned cleanup routes/locations as well as cleanup supplies and guidelines. Then off you go to clean up your route any time between November 1 and November 10 (or sooner, if you prefer). When you’re finished, you can put your collected trash in your own barrel or simply leave your trash bags along the side of the road where they can easily be picked up. Be sure to notify your Cleanup Captain if you leave bags to be picked up.

As always, please be sure to follow these safety guidelines:

  • Wear rubber-lined gloves, use proper technique when removing gloves, and sanitize your hands immediately upon completing your cleanup

  • Use a trash grabber tool (we will lend you one!)

  • Wear brightly colored clothing, clean up in the direction of oncoming traffic, and avoid stepping into the street whenever possible

We hope you can join and help us keep Mansfield litter-free!
