Volunteers from Smith & Nephew at work on Route 106

May 2015- Once again the weather Gods shined on Mansfield for the 8th annual Great American Cleanup of Mansfield on May 2. As in years past, loyal volunteers from the boy scouts, cub scouts, girl scouts, daisy troops,  religious groups, teams from Mansfield High School,  employees of local businesses, as well as plenty of local families all pitched in to help. Afterwards, more than 200 people enjoyed a celebratory lunch at the Xfinity Center VIP tent.

This year, we collected more than two tons of trash and recyclables, as well as a drone that crashed in the woods off route 106. However, we also cleaned up a disturbing number of empty “nip” bottles and other alcoholic beverage containers, as well as the usual complement of cigarette butts, losing lottery tickets, and plastic and Styrofoam beverage containers. We hope that someday there will no need for litter cleanups, but until that day comes, we’ll keep working to Keep Mansfield Beautiful!

Keep Mansfield Beautiful thanks all of our volunteers, as well as our financial sponsors.

  1. I’m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s
both educative and interesting, and without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head.

The problem is something which too few people are speaking
intelligently about. I am very happy I stumbled across this in my search for something concerning this.
